About IARI
Indian Agricultural Research Institute, generally investigated as Pusa Institute, is India's premier national Institute for agricultural research, education, and extension. The Institute is build in Delhi and is financed and administered by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. IARI has 'Deemed-to-be-University' status under the subject confirmation in UGC Act of 1956.
IARI offers M.Sc, M.Tech, and Ph.D. degrees in 26 different disciplines to candidates. The selection criteria are based on entrance examinations. Admission to the M.Sc & M.Tech course will be based on merit lists. In the Ph.D. course, the performance of the candidate at IARI will be based on: Entrance Examination: 80% weightage Academic Score: 10% weightage Interview: 10% weightage.
The present campus is a self-sufficient productive complex sprawled over an area of 500 hectares (approximately 1250 acres) located about 8 km west of New Delhi. IARI has acquired 20 divisions, 5 multi-disciplinary Centres located in Delhi which are among the top 2 off-season nurseries, 8 regional stations, 3 All India coordinated research projects with headquarters at IARI and 10 national Centres particularly basic functioning and various curriculum under the all India coordinated research projects. It has an approved staff strength of 3540 to be made up of scientific, technical, administrative, and supporting personnel. IARI also conducts Career Carnival collaborations.

Indian Agricultural Research Institute Admission 2024

- course-credit system shall submit Course Completion Certificate issued by the Registrar/Principal/Dean/Associate Dean of the university/college.
- Certificate of Schedule Caste/Tribe/OBC/PH issued by the District Magistrate or other concerned authorities.
- Document of evidence of continuous employment by the employer, if the candidate is employed.
- Recent Passport sized photograph
Payments Methods For Admission
Online procedure: Downloaded online application form from the institute's website along DD of INR 500 (General category) and INR 250 (Reserved category) drawn in favor of the Registrar, Post Graduate School, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi.
By Post: Send a crossed DD of INR 575 with the written request for application form and information bulletin clearly mentioning the correspondence address of the candidate.
Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for reserved category) payable through Syndicate Bank at Pusa Campus.
Note: The duly completed application form should reach on or before the last date of posting to Registrar, Post Graduate School, Indian Agricultural Research Institute.

Other details about library services: The IARI Library is one of the biggest and most famous libraries in South East Asia. It holds a total of 6 lakh publications, including 1 lakh books, 45,000 bulletins, 30,000 news clips, 15,000 postgraduate theses, 3,50,000 journal volumes, 10,000 pamphlets, and 30,000 reports, along with many other commentaries and materials.
Hostels The Institute has five boys' hostels: Hemant, Vasant, Shishir, Grishm, and Sharad; one girls' hostel, Varsha; and one Saraswati Apartment for married students. The hostel is pretty good. Rooms are nice and clean. Hostel fees are pretty cheap, only 5000 per semester. The food tastes very bad in the mess. It would cost about 2000-2500 if eaten every day. If not wanting to eat in the mess, then the person needs to pay 5000 per month, which is the basic amount.
Extracurricular Activities: The extra-curricular life of students is very important to the Institute and, therefore, it promotes their participation in activities that are directed towards the cultivation of culture, physique and social life. Spacious playgrounds exist for outdoor games like cricket, hockey, football, volleyball, tennis, badminton, and different kinds of events. Indoor games like Chess, Carom & Table Tennis.
